FAQS

No, we welcome both registered and non-registered patients for emergency appointments.

The cost of an emergency dental appointment can be found on our fees page. The cost of your dental treatment can vary depending on the problem and any treatment required.

We will always explain any costs clearly before starting treatment.

We aim to provide immediate relief and may begin treatment during your emergency appointment. However, some treatments may require a follow-up visit depending on complexity.

No, a dental infection will not go away without treatment. While symptoms may temporarily improve, the infection will remain. Our dentists can give you full detailed advice during your appointment.

If you experience pain, trauma, swelling, or damage to a tooth, contact the practice as soon as possible. Our team will assess your situation and arrange an urgent appointment where needed.

During your appointment, the dentist will:

  • Examine the problem
  • Identify the cause
  • Relieve pain where possible
  • Explain your options

The priority is to get you comfortable and stabilise the issue.

Tooth pain can feel worse at night because lying down increases blood flow to the head, which can increase pressure in the affected tooth. There are also fewer distractions, making the pain feel more intense.

I hav’nt been to the Dentist in nearly 30 years as I’m a very nervous patient but straight away I was put at ease from walking through the door. My Dentist had a big smile & talked all the way through my examination & explained what he could do or couldn’t & why!!! Great experience, highly recommend

I have been with Bourne Dental Practice since I was a child and I am very happy with the care I recieve to the point I travel there from the next town! The reception team are always very warm and welcoming upon arrival and after procedures. Mr Welsh has been my dentist my whole life & I always feel very comfortable & relaxed while visiting. When i have had issues with my teeth, i am seen to & sorted very quickly. Stella (the hygienist) is also a great asset and is very informative on how to keep my teeth healthy. Thank you to the team.
